CLEVELAND- Richard Lee Cherry, age 77, of Cleveland, MS passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at Providence Assisted Living in Cleveland. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 10, 2021, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland. A Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will follow at 1:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Steve Huber will officiate the service. Richard was born on September 14, 1943, to Bob and Lois Ficken  Cherry in Meridian, MS. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1960 and Mississippi State University. He worked as a car salesman for Barker Auto for more than 30 years. His hobbies included playing drums, golf, and writing music. He was a big Mississippi State sports fan. He loved all sports and spending time with his daughter and grandchildren. He also loved his feline companion "Babygirl". He was a loving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Lois Cherry. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Daniel of Cleveland, MS. Sisters, Anne (Rex) Buffington of Starkville, Ms, Vicki (Grady) Coleman of Meridian, MS. Granddaughter, Emily Ann Daniel. Grandson, Brandon James Daniel.
