Adell Mowdy Rush, age 86, of Cleveland, died on Sunday February 21, 2010 at the Cleveland Heath & Rehabilitation. She was born on September 21, 1923 to William and Lessie (Hunter) Mowdy in Madden, MS. She attended Madden High School and on April 18, 1942 she married Thomas Allen Rush in Humphreys County, MS. Mrs. Rush had worked for Fine Vines in Greenville, MS until 1989. She also worked at several other sewing factories in the area. She was a member of Shaw Baptist Church for many years before moving to Cleveland after the death of her husband. Mrs. Rush was currently a member of Yale Street Baptist Church where she was a member of the Eunice Sunday School Class. She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and being with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a son Dwight Rush, two brothers John and Mike Mowdy and one Sister, Aileen Johnson Visitation will be held Tuesday February 23, 2010 from 6:00 PM ~ 8:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday February 24, 2010 10:00 AM at the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the North Cleveland Cemetery. The Rev. Thomas Bruce will officiate the service. Mrs. Rush is survived by two Daughters, Janis Lofton of Cleveland, MS. and Linda Rettberg of Takoma Park, MD. Two Sons, Ralph Rush of Cleveland, MS. and Allen Rush of Indianola, MS. Brother, Jim Mowdy of Pelahatchie, MS. Two Sisters, Betty Cannon of Pearl, MS. and Frances Burrell of Canton, MS. 8 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
