Alice Faye Bailey

SHELBY - Alice Faye Bailey, age 74, of Shelby, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Bolivar Medical Center.  

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at First Baptist Church Cleveland. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 3:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will be in the Shelby Cemetery. Dr. Park Neff, Rev. Brad Beckwith and Rev. Carl Prewitt will officiate the services.

Faye was born on June 14, 1943 to Bertram Melton, Jr. and Delvene(Smith) Melton in Cleveland, MS. She graduated from Cleveland High School in 1961.  Faye married Warren Bailey on June 30, 1962 in Cleveland, MS. She worked at Griffin Lamp Company as a secretary. Faye co-owned Warren's Electronics for over 50 years where she kept the books and the duties of customer service. She was a former member of Bellview Baptist Church in Shelby, Calvary Baptist Church in Cleveland and was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS. Faye taught Sunday School for 50 years. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother who loved her grandchildren dearly. Faye was a faithful servant to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who devoted her whole life to teaching His Word to others. She was also a devoted counselor and friend to many. Everyone that met Faye loved her including many college students whom she mentored.

Faye was preceded in death by her parents Bertram Melton, Jr. and Delvene Melton.

Faye is survived by her Spouse of 55 years, Warren Bailey of Shelby, MS; Son, Luther(Emily) Bailey of Olive Branch, MS; Granddaughter, Shelby Bailey of Memphis, TN and Grandson,  Casey Bailey of Orlando, FL; Brother, Carl(Virginia) Melton of Benoit, MS and a Nephew, Carl Melton, Jr. of Indianola, MS.

Pallbearers will be Paul Powers, Carl Melton, Jr., Mike Bailey, Rob Malone, Scott Hollingsworth and Chuck Boyer. Honorary pallbearers will be William Lindsey, Mike Burchfield, Brett Moorman, Kent White and the Older Men's Sunday School Class.
