Allen C. Gentry age 93 of Glendora, MS passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2023 at Walter B. Crook Nursing Home in Ruleville, MS.
A. C. Was born October 8, 1930 to Allen Gentry and Nettie McCammon Gentry in Murfreesboro, MS. He grew up in Tallahatchie County , MS and had worked on the farm for over 60 years with Hand Farms and Mike Sturdivant Farms. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He always put others above himself. AC loved to hunt, fish, be outdoors, mechanic on different things and of course do his many farm chores.
He was a member of the Cleveland Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents Allen and Nettie Gentry, his wife Mary Frances Gentry brothers, and several brothers and sisters.
AC was survived by his daughter Lisa Estridge of Merigold, MS, grandchildren Melissa Norquist (Michael) of Merigold, MS and Sarah Kathyrn Hazzard (Peter) of Cleveland, MS. great grandchildren, Dawson and Maycee Kate Norquist and Carter and Thomas Hazzard. He also leaves a special niece Judy Zebra and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, November 8, 2023 at Cleveland Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM Thursday November 9, 2023 at Bruce Cemetery in Bruce, MS. Reverend Greg Chamblee will officiate the services.
Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
