Barbara Jean Ward Griffin, age 69, of Boyle, MS, passed away at her home on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. She was born on May 19, 1955, in Clarksdale, MS, to Jack K. Ward and Barbara Jean Clanton Ward. Barbara spent her formative years in the Cleveland area and received her education from Cleveland Schools. On February 22, 1974, she exchanged vows with Stanley Griffin in Cleveland, MS.
Throughout her life, Barbara's dedication was primarily to the family business Stan's Refrigeration where she managed the bookkeeping responsibilities with precision for many years and previously worked with Baxter Laboratories and IGA Grocers . Aside from her professional commitments, Barbara had a profound passion for gardening and could often be found tending to beautiful flowers. Her culinary skills were renowned among family and friends as she enjoyed cooking and maintaining the household effortlessly. In quieter moments, she found joy in artistic pursuits and watching boats by the riverside; finding contentment in life's simple pleasures and nurturing her loved ones.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Barbara Ward, her son Casey Wayne Griffin, and her sister Anita Joyce Davidson. She is survived by her husband of five decades, Stanley Griffin; her son Cassidy J. Griffin of Jacksonville, FL; her sister Brenda Hippensteel (Denny) of Mobile, AL; four cherished grandchildren - Marayla Polischeck, Emily Howell, India Griffin, and Jagger Griffin; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation for the family is scheduled to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Cleveland Funeral Home. Following this will be a Celebration of Life Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Clarence Edwards presiding over the service. The burial will follow at Merigold Cemetery.
The roles of pallbearers will be fulfilled by Darron Richard, Timothy Eaton, Frank Witherspoon Tray Jackson Mike Griffin, and Seth Crocker. Honorary pallbearers are Allen Williams and Murry Roark.
