Carol Jean Barnett

Cleveland--Carol Jean Barnett, age 62, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Thursday, February 16, 2023 at Bolivar Medical Center.

 

Visitation will be held Saturday, February 25th from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Rex Collins will officiate the service.

 

Carol was born on April 20, 1960 to Jack Robert Caven and Dora Graham Jordan in Los Angeles County, California. She grew up in El Monte California before moving to Mississippi in 1980. Carol worked at Carhart as a bar tacker. She also worked at Cleveland Nursing and Rehabilitation as a Nurse's Aid. Carol loved going to the casino, playing bingo, talking on the phone and watching movies. She loved her children and grandchildren.

 

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Jack Caven and Dora Graham Jordan; Spouse; James Benny Barnett; Sister, Brenda Joyce Lee; Brother, Johnny Albritton.

 

Carol is survived by Daughter, Elizabeth Thomas of Cleveland, MS; Daughter, Chasity Chere Litton of Tupelo, MS; Son, Christopher Thomas of Cleveland, MS; Grandchildren, Katelyn Peacock, Lauren Baker, Waylon Jaco and Layla Jaco; Great-grandchildren, Skylar Kitchens, Layne Sterling, Maisley Jones and Gracie Fluckinger; Brother, Mike Caven of California; Brother, Ronald Barnett of California.

 

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Self, Jeromy Peeples, Michael Kitchens, Todd Cooper, Will Goff, Jeremy Cantrell and Melvin Aaron Baker, Jr.
