Carolyn Nel Kimbrell

Carolyn Nel Langham Kimbrell age 75 of Ruleville, MS passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022, at the Walter B Crook Nursing Home in Ruleville, MS.

Visitation for Nell will be held Wednesday, January 26, 2022, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Ruleville Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at the Roundaway Cemetery. Reverend Robert Haney and Reverend Larry Braswell will officiate the services.

Nel was born February 20, 1946, to William H. and Mamie Shannon Langham in Ruleville, MS. She graduated from Ruleville High School in 1964, Married Donald Lee Kimbrell on July 18, 1964, in Ruleville. She was a former bookkeeper for William Turner Insurance, she had also worked with the Federal Compress, North Sunflower Hospital, North Sunflower Academy, Shurden Farms, Shurden Owen Farms, Stafford Shurden, Freck Luna. Carolyn was an all-conference basketball player in high school, she also enjoyed playing tennis, bridge, and reading. Nel was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be lovingly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mamie Langham, and a brother Billy Langham.

Nel is survived by he husband of 57 years Donald Lee Kimbrell, Sr., of Ruleville, MS, Sons, Donald Lee Kimbrell, Jr.(Tammy) of Brandon, MS, William Lane Kimbrell (Jennifer) of Cleveland, MS, and Stephan Lance Kimbrell (Valorie) of Nesbit, MS, Seven grandchildren, Ryan and Claudia Kimbrell, Allison Kimbrell, Sarah Kimbrell, Brianna Kimbrell, Collin Kimbrell, and Brayden Kimbrell.

Pallbearers are Stafford Shurden, Reggie Shurden, Ryan Kimbrell, Shurden Owens, Ross Mitchell, and Allen Lamastus. The honorary pallbearers are Jason Kimbrell and Brayden Kimbrell.
