Clarence Salley, Jr.

MERIGOLD - Clarence Salley, Jr. age 72, of Merigold, MS, went to be with his Savior on Friday, June 19, 2020. at his home in Merigold. 

Visitation will be held Monday, June 22, 2020, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  A Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at the Delta Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Cleveland. The Reverend Robert Haney will officiate the services.

Clarence was born on March 19, 1948, to Clarence and Willie Mae (Gilbert) Salley, Sr. in Pace, MS.  He married Shirley Kitchens on December 03, 1966, in Cleveland.  He had worked for Douglas and Lomason for a few years before becoming a self-employed painter and drywall contractor. Clarence loved working and providing for his family, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking, and eating. He loved worshiping the Lord, helping others, and going to Gospel singings. He was a man of great faith in the Lord. His faith brought him through many trials and he was always faithful to share the love of Christ to his many friends and family. Clarence was also a great family man, he cherished every moment with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He and Shirley attended the Church of Faith for many years.
Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Willie Mae Gilbert Salley, three sisters, Peggy White, Mary Ann Salley, Frances McClain, and a brother, Jerry Salley.

 He is survived by wife, of 53 years Shirley Kitchens Salley of Merigold, MS.  Daughter, Teresa (Mike) Moseley of Cleveland, MS.  Daughter, Amy (Bobby) Johnson of Leland, MS.  Son, Scott (Christy) Salley of Cleveland, MS.  Son, Clarence "Rance"(Brandi) Salley of Holcomb, MS.  Sister, Anne Miller of Chatanooga, TN.  Sister, Patricia Johnson of Greenville, MS.  Brother, Tommy Salley of Edinburgh, MS.  14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are grandsons, Jordan Moseley, Josh Moseley, Andrew Moseley, Caleb Humphrey, Jacob Humphrey, Seth Humphrey, Samuel Salley, and Cameron Salley. Honorary pallbearers are Jon Locke, Wes Tatum, Richard Heffner and Wes Burchfield.
