Dale Walker

GREENVILLE - Dale Welch Walker, age 101, of Greenville formerly of Ruleville, passed away on Friday April 19, 2019 at the home of her daughter.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 22, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.  A Celebration of Life Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at the Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, MS. Reverend Larry Chouccoli will officiate the service.

Mrs. Walker was born the middle of 8 children on June 15, 1917 to Earl and Jeffie (McCain) Welch in the Yoconi Community in Lafayette County, MS.  She married the late Marion Clyde Walker. They later moved to the Delta where she was a homemaker and child caregiver for many of her friends’ children. Mrs. Walker loved to sew and make clothes for her children and grandchildren. She also loved to work with flowers in her garden and grow vegetables to cook for her friends and family. Mrs. Walker had a servant's heart always giving to others and helping them along their way. She will be missed by her many family members and friends. She was a longtime member and servant of Dockery Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Marion Clyde Walker, Son, Danny Walker, Daughter, Carolyn Walker Pannell, 5 brothers, Doyce Welch, Charlie Welch, Edward Welch, James Welch and Leroy Welch, 2 sisters, Nina Welch Jordan and Margie Welch Pyron, 3 grandchildren, David Labella, David Mullen and Keith Morgan.

Mrs. Walker is survived by 3 daughters, Nell Walker Labella of Columbus, MS, Clytele Walker Lawrence of Greenville, MS and, Annette Walker Lofton of Greenville, MS.  She also leaves 14 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, 24 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Pallbearers will be her great grandsons; Chase Lofton, John Austin Coleman, Walker Coleman, Derrick Morgan, Cambren Morgan, Austin McCool and Tyler Morgan.
