BOYLE- David Roy Herrin age 53 of Boyle, MS passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home in Boyle, MS.
A visitation will be held Thursday, June 9, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the North Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend Fish Robinson will officiate the services.
David was born February 18, 1969, to John Robert Herrin and Twyla Alberta Mann Herrin in Indianola, MS. He grew up in Cleveland, MS, and attended Cleveland Schools. His first job was with Sunflower Grocery Store having worked there a few years before joining the Nehi Bottling sales team, where he remained for 26 years. He married Tara Utz on October 16, 2010, at Morrison Chapel Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS. He was co-owner of Catfish Cabin for the past 12 years. David's passion was music, he was a former bass player for the Joe Garcia Band and Hwy 61 South bands for a number of years. David enjoyed construction work, always building and remodeling things and doing the "Yes Dear" projects. He also enjoyed working with horses, cooking, and working the catering events till all hours of the night. When time permitted David also enjoyed traveling with friends. David was community-minded having served as the Operations Chief for the Bolivar County EOC for a number of years and also received the National Exchange Club Community Service Award.
He was a kind and gentle loving man who will be missed by his many friends and family.

David is survived by his wife of 11 years Tara Utz Herrin of Boyle, MS, children, Michael Phillips (Tammy)of Boyle, Mark Herrin of Brandon, MS, Ryan Herrin (Cynthia) of Heber Springs, AR, Riley Edington of Cleveland, MS, Kristan Jackson (Trey) of Heber Springs, AR, sister, Wendy Groce (Clint) of Birmingham, AL, brother, James Beach of Cleveland, MS, step-father, Bill Hunter of Cleveland, MS, 9 grandchildren; Alexis Phillips, and Finley Marquis, Jase and Kolton Herrin, Foster and Finley Herrin, Maddox Edington and Blakeley Berryhill and Brooks Jackson, and nieces; Emma and JaneParker and nephew, Nolan Groce.
Pallbearers are James Beach, Bobby Holder, Mike Chamness, Steve Lewis, Heath Beck, and James Therrell. The honorary pallbearers are Gene Bishop, Homer Sledge, III, Keith Hewitt, Joe Garcia, Johnny Conguista, and Bill Quinton.
