Delores Tigges Lundy

September 1, 1925 — January 11, 2024

Cordova, Tn

Delores Tigges Mullins Lundy, a woman of grace and wisdom, passed away peacefully on, January 11, 2024, at the age of 98. She was residing at the Cordova Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Cordova, TN at the time of her passing.

Delores was born on September 1, 1925, in Worley, Idaho to Vernon Tigges and Ruth Pearson Tigges. She completed her education at Lewiston High School before embarking on a beautiful journey with her beloved husband, Hubert "Ace" Benford Mullins. Together, they diligently managed the family farm, with Delores employing her meticulous record-keeping skills. In addition to her agricultural responsibilities, she served as a dedicated bookkeeper for M & L Auto in Merigold. As retirement beckoned, Delores embraced a new chapter as a qualification clerk for the State of Washington Welfare Department.

Amidst her numerous pursuits, Delores found solace and joy in tending to her garden and engaging in friendly bridge games with cherished companions. Sewing quilts brought her immense pleasure and provided a creative outlet for expressing her intricate artistry. Delores actively participated in the Home Demonstration Club and devoted time to inspiring children through her involvement with 4H.  She was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and fondly hosted several star players for dinners. Alongside this ardor for baseball, Delores's heart swelled for Mississippi State football. A woman of great faith, Delores was an esteemed member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church during her time in Cleveland and subsequently became an member of Christ the King Lutheran Church upon relocating to Memphis.

Delores's memory will be forever treasured by those who survive her: daughter Pam M. Barnes of Cordova, TN; son Paul Mullins and his wife Elizabeth of Merigold, MS; sister Pat Tigges Jones and her husband Gene of Spokane, WA; brother Don Tigges of Gresham, OR; grandchildren Christy Dye, Les Dye, Ric Mullins and his wife Tove, and Matt Mullins; seven great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Delores will be eternally reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death: her parents Vernon and Ruth Pearson, her husband Hubert "Ace" Mullins, sister Verna Tigges Holt, and brother Dick Tigges.

A private family graveside service will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the New Cleveland Cemetery. Officiating the service will be Delores's beloved son Paul Mullins.
