Dennis was born on December 30, 1934, to Marion "Buck" and Hazel Kilgo Edington in Tunica County, Mississippi. He graduated from Tunica High School in 1953. He married the
love of his life Mary Christine (Chris) Mayo on June 20, 1955, and had three children – Lisa, Denise, and Dennis (Denny). Dennis is a veteran of the Korean War, where he served our country in the Navy for four years. After being stationed in California, he and Chris moved back to Mississippi where they worked and raised a loving family. They were longtime members of the Bethany Primitive Baptist Church. Over the course of his life, Dennis managed several grocery stores and worked hard to provide for his family. Outside of work, he loved rabbit hunting
with his brother, Hal, and quail hunting with his father. He loved taking his kids and grandchildren hunting and fishing and valued the importance of quality family time. When their children were young, Hal and Dennis showed horses competitively with their kids. As Lisa, Denise, and Denny grew up and had families of their own, fishing and canoeing became hobbies they all could enjoy together. Dennis enjoyed reading about World War II and politics as well as watched Bill O'Reilly and Gunsmoke daily. Outside of reading, hunting, and fishing, gardening was another hobby that he and Chris enjoyed together. They loved working side-by-side picking, canning, and freezing vegetables for the winter as well as gifting vegetables to friends and family.
Between yearly family reunions, trips to Branson, Mountain View, and canoeing, Dennis lived a full and active life
