Doris Beevers Wheeless

Doris Mayo Beevers Wheeless, age 85, of Ethel, MS, formerly of Cleveland, MS, peacefully passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kosciusko.

Doris was born on June 27, 1939, to Clyde Mayo and Velma Rook Mayo in Earle Arkansas. She graduated from Cleveland High School and subsequently married Jimmy Beevers with whom she raised three loving children. Doris devoted 34 years of her life to working at Baxter Laboratories before retiring. Later, she found happiness again in marriage with Ralph Wheeless and relocated to Ethel, MS. Doris was a devout Christian who faithfully attended Davis Chapel Church of the Nazarene and the Cleveland Church of God for many years. She will be remembered as a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Velma Mayo, brother James Mayo, sisters Marliee Simmons and Hazel Simmons, as well as grandson Alan Beevers; Doris is survived by her beloved spouse Ralph Wheeless of Ethel, MS, and her sons: Mike Beevers (Rozanne) of Horn Lake, MS; Johnny Beevers (Debbie) of Ethel, MS; Ronny Beevers (Becky) of Cleveland, MS and step-son Larry Wheeless of McCool. MS. She also leaves behind a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will cherish her memory.

Visitation for Doris will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home followed by a graveside funeral service at North Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend Greg Chamblee will officiate the service.

Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Doris's family during this time of mourning.
