Doug Fisher

CLEVELAND - Douglas Fisher, age 75, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020, at his home.  
Graveside services will be at the Linn Methodist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at 11:00 AM. Rev.  Buddy Jennings will officiate the service.
 
Doug was born on October 23, 1944, to John Fisher and Velma Graves in Raleigh, MS. He moved around in the delta but lived most of his life in Cleveland. He attended Cleveland Schools as well as Mississippi Delta Junior College. Doug married Mary Alice Beard on October 7, 1965. Doug worked most of his life as a self-employed concrete contractor...Fisher Concrete. He also worked as an assistant manager of Sunflower stores and as a manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Doug collected and restored antique cars. He also enjoyed listening to country music. Doug was of the Baptist faith.


Doug was preceded in death by his parents, John & Velma Fisher; his wives, Mary Alice Fisher and Janet Jones Fisher; Son, Todd Wilson; Sister, Charlene Pearson and his brother, Robert McCoun.


Doug is survived by Son, Ricky Wilson of Jackson, MS; Daughter, Renee Broussard of Cleveland, MS;    Daughter, Angie Contreas of Bradenton, FL;  Sister, Brenda Masters of Westminster, SC; Sister, Debra Mann of Batesville, MS; Brother, Wayne Tharp of Indianola, MS; 6 Grandchildren, Jonathan Broussard, Erika Cheng Britt, Brooke Contreas, Todd Austin Jenkins, Misty Wilson, and Tiffany Wilson McCully; 8 Great-grandchildren, Miley Broussard, Madden Broussard, Braden Contreas, Lalya Contreas, Milan Parham, Ryder Parham, Ledger Parham, and Kaitlyn Blaine.


Pallbearers will be Frank Michaels, Clint Fausnight, Jason Bassie, Johnathan Broussard, Floyd Arbuckle, and Clint Jones.
Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The online guest register may be viewed and signed at www.clevelandfuneralhome.net.
