Eleanor Ruth Young Yates age 82 of Cleveland, Ms passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, in Rankin County, MS.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 pm until 5:30 pm Friday, September 2, 2022, at Cleveland Funeral HomeThe memorial service will follow at 5:30 pm in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Greg Chamblee will officiate the services.
Eleanor was born December 13, 1939, to Jesse Marion Young and Mary Ethel Rowland Young in Faulkner, MS. She had 13 siblings. The family moved to Friars Point, MS where she graduated Friars Point High School. Eleanor's passion was singing. She had previously won the Tennesse State Fair with her vocal abilities.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie Marion and Mary Ethel Young, and a son Louis Stanley Sayre.
Eleanor is survived by 3 daughters Angelia Horne (BJ) of Cleveland, MS, Cynthia Sayre Privatte of Monee, IL, Eleanor Suzzane Crawford of Kannapolis, NC, and a son Thomas Matthew Sayre of Monee, IL. She also leaves a host of grandchildren and nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
