Elizabeth Ann Jones Cutts, age 90 of Cleveland, MS, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at the home of her daughter in North Richland Hills, TX.
Elizabeth was born August 16, 1934, to Marvin Elton Jones and Julia Lorene Cohea Jones in Inverness, MS. She moved to Bolivar County in 1941 and graduated from Boyle High School, class of 1952. She attended Mississippi College after graduation. She married Joe Dan Ray on October 3, 1953. They were married until his death in 1972. She married Thomas W. Cutts in November of 1987 and they were married until his death, in 1993. Elizabeth worked at Sears and Roebuck for 35 years and Cleveland Medical Clinic for 8 years. She retired in 1999 and did some traveling. She was a member of Boyle Methodist Church, where she played the organ/piano for many years. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Cleveland and Clarksdale, MS for over 60 years.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, Elton and Lorene Jones, husbands, Joe Dan Ray and Thomas W. Cutts, brothers R. O. "Bobby " Jones, James M. Jones, and Charles W. Jones. She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth Diane Ray Hutchinson (Wayne) of North Richland Hills, TX, grandsons, Joey Parrott(Jessica), Jonathan Parrott(Christina), Jeffery Parrott(Casie), two great-grandchildren Emery and Addilynn Parrott, step-children Charles Cutts, Lisa Cutts Lumb and Teresa Cutts, 5 step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. The burial will follow in New Cleveland Cemetery. Rev. Hanna Shumpert will officiate the services.
Pallbearers are Joey Parrott, Jonathan Parrott, Jeffery Parrott, Lamar Jones, Mike Jones, Bob Jones and Brad Jones.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boyle United Methodist Church.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Community Hospice of Texas, for the excellent care they provided to Elizabeth and her family.
