Ethan Wade Holland

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ethan Wade Holland, who was only 15 years old and passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2023. He was born on February 4, 2008 in Cleveland, MS to Wade Holland and Phyllis Brooks. Ethan had previously attended North Sunflower Academy, Bayou Academy, and Cleveland Central Middle School.

Ethan was a beloved son, brother, nephew, cousin and friend. He was an accomplished athlete and had been a 2-time state champion and MVP of the World Series in baseball. In addition to playing baseball, he also loved football and spending time outdoors fishing and hunting. His friends and family were incredibly important to him.

Ethan was raised with strong Christian values and was a baptized born-again Christian who attended the Cleveland Church of God. He touched many lives during his short time with us.

Ethan will be lovingly remembered by his mother Phyllis Brooks (Gary Cooper) of Cleveland MS, father Wade Holland (Paula Weeks Inman) of Grenada MS,grandmother Sandra Coleman of Boyle MS,  sister Jessica Harris (Jonathan) of Boyle MS, uncles Shannon Holland (Susan) of Grenada MS, Shannon Brooks, and Brandon Brooks (Kristen), Aunt Michelle Brooks Gabbucci (Chris),  niece and nephew John Thomas Harris and Kiley Harris. Cousins; Tyler Holland, Brittany Hobbs (Tyler), Baylee Brooks, Bethany Toole (Terry), Breelyn Baade, Haven Kate Lott, Sophie Hobbs, Deanna Smith (Zack), John Pope (Chasity), Jason Pope; step aunts and uncles David Pope, Mike Pope, Sylvia Pope along with countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ann Pope, Garland Pope,Henry Holland, and Don Coleman; uncles Steve Brooks and; and Richard Pope.

A visitation will be held on Monday May 15th from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. The celebration of life funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 at the Cleveland Church of God at 2:00 PM. Burial will follow in the North Cleveland Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Reverend Greg Chamblee.

Pallbearers are Cam Salley, Tucker Dill, Wheeler Bolden, Tyler Hobbs, Tyler Holland and Wilfred Grandberry. Michael Brayden Mills, Corey Barfield, Wes Burchfield, Cameron Clark, Zack Walker and Desi Monix. Honorary pallbearers are Cesar Becerril, and Terry Toole.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to the Cleveland Church of God Youth Fund at 4101 Hwy 8 Cleveland, MS 38732.

We will always cherish Ethan's memory and hold him close to our hearts.  Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with his care and service arrangements.
