Eva Peeples Howard, age 86, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family in Brandon, Mississippi. Born on August 6, 1938, in Cleveland, Mississippi, Eva lived a life rich in love, dedication, and family ties.
Eva devoted many years of her life to her career, notably working at Baxter's and subsequently at Madison County Schools, where she found joy in being close to her grandchildren during their early years in elementary school. However, it was her role as a loving homemaker that she cherished the most, exemplifying her nurturing personality and deep commitment to her family.
Eva had an unyielding love for her family, always sharing moments of joy, whether it was sitting on the porch listening to music or enjoying the simplest pleasures like hot dogs. Her adoration for her grandchildren was profound, creating cherished memories that they will carry with them forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Howard Chapin of Madison, Mississippi, and her granddaughters, Jo Anna Macke (Nate) of Madison, Mississippi, and Jennifer Chapin (Fiance, Chase Ouzts) of Madison, Mississippi. Additionally, she is survived by her brother, Jack Peeples of Cleveland, Mississippi. Great Grandchildren Sadie Mae Macke, Olin Macke, Lottie Estelle Ouzts. Brother-in-Law George Twiner of Pass Christian, Ms. She also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews.
Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Howard; her father, Dewey Peeples; her mother, Otie Peeples; and her sister, Charlene P. Twiner.
Visitation will be held on March 25, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home, located at 3463 West Highway 8, Cleveland, MS 38732. Following the visitation, a funeral service will commence at 1:00 PM, also at Cleveland Funeral Home. Eva will be laid to rest at New Cleveland Cemetery, with Bro. Clarence Edwards officiating the services.
Serving as pallbearers are Nate Macke, Russell Peeples, Art Peeples, Chase Ouzts, Clay Peeples, and Sawyer Deschamp.
Eva’s legacy of love will remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her, leaving behind a profound impact that will endure through her family and friends. Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Eva's family during this difficult time.
