Falba Ragland

Falba LaMastus Ragland, age 99, of Ruleville, passed away on Saturday September 18, 2010 at the North Sunflower Hospital.  She was born the 2nd of eight children on August 11, 1911 to Arthur Thornton and Ada (Stevens) Howell in Mississippi. She married Claude LaMastus in 1932 they lived in Drew, MS where she was manager of The Rooming House for a number of years. In 1962 she married John Ragland they together in 1963 moved to Memphis, TN where she remained until the mid-1970's. She then returned to Drew to keep the books for CM LaMastus Farm. Mrs. Ragland was of the Episcopal faith. She was an avid gardener being a very proud rose gardener. She was very active in the Drew Garden Club and while in Memphis she was active in the area garden clubs. Mrs. Ragland had several hobbies she enjoyed such as sewing, cooking and loved to fish. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Claude LaMastus, John Ragland and a son Claude Marshall LaMastus. Visitation will be held Tuesday September 21, 2010 from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland. Graveside funeral Services will follow at 11:30 AM in the Drew City Cemetery in Drew, MS.  Mrs. Ragland is survived by Daughter-in-law, Merle LaMastus of Cleveland, MS.  Grandson, William "Mack" LaMastus of Cleveland, MS.  Grandson, Claude "Bae" LaMastus of Jay, FL.  Granddaughter, Elizabeth "Libba" Stanford of St. Louis, MO.  Great Granddaughter, Mary Madeline LaMastus of Cleveland, MS.  Great Grandson, Gib LaMastus of Cleveland, MS., Great Granddaughter, Kathryn Stanford of St Louis, MO and a  host of nieces and nephews.
