Frances McClure McCarty, age 77, of Wiggins formerly of Cleveland, died on Saturday December 01, 2012 at the Wesley Memorial Hospital in Hattiesburg. She was born on October 16, 1935 to Victor B. and Frances (Pettey) McClure on a farm next door to Interstate Baptist Church. The church played a major role in her upbringing. She graduated Shaw High School in 1954 as Salutatorian and married Bobby McCarty on May 5, 1954. She was a chief clerk at the Federal Compress for 20 years, and had also worked at F & I Machine Works, Jay's Department Store and was former owner of the Quaint Shop. She was a member of Yale Street Baptist where she had taught the Adult Sunday School Class for many years. Frances was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Franklin McClure and a sister Mary Lou Reed.
Visitation will be held Tuesday December 4, 2012 from 10:00AM until 11:00AM funeral service at Cleveland Funeral Home. Burial will be at the North Cleveland Cemetery. Rev. John Chouccoli and Rev. Thomas Bruce will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be Mason Dean, Nick Jennings, Thomas Bennett, Scott Dean, Sam Compston and Scottie Harrison, Pat George and Charles Weeks. Honorary pallbearers are Larson Ingram and Ethan Hopkins.
Frances is survived by Husband of 58 years, Bobby H. McCarty of Wiggins, MS. Four daughters, Vicki M (Samuel) Compston of Wiggins, MS, Dianne M White of Greenville, MS, Bobbie "Boba" M. (Scott)Dean of Boyle, MS and Michelle Hopkins of Merigold, MS. Sister, Alice Weeks of Shaw, MS. Brother, Victor McClure of Southaven, MS. 5 Grandchildren, Sheri Ingram, Nick Jennings, Mason (Rachel) Dean, Emily Compston and Thomas Bennett and 5 Great grandchildren Shelby Bracken, McKarlee Ingram, Larson Ingram, Ethan Hopkins and Raegan Dean. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.
