Frances Gilbert Tyler age 80 of Cleveland, MS passed away Friday, August 26, 2022, at the Bolivar Medical Long Term Care unit.
Visitation will be held Monday, August 29, 2022, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Cleveland Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 am in the Cleveland Funeral home Chapel. Burial will be at New Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend Steve Holtz will officiate the services.
Frances was born January 26, 1942, to Harold Virgil Gilbert and Annie Mae Brown Gilbert in Skene, Mississippi. She and her family moved to Teoc, Mississippi in 1955 where she graduated from Valley High School. They moved back to Cleveland and in 1960 she began her career with Baxter Laboratories. She worked in the Kidney Room where she made dialysis products for 9 years. After leaving Baxter in March of 1969, Frances was a homemaker for 29 years. In 1998 she began working as manager of Greenskeeper nursery until 2008.
Frances loved to work in her garden raising flowers. She also enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, making crafts, fixing things, and loving on her grandson Nathan. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Annie Mae Gilbert, husband of 58 years, Ralph Tyler, son Ryan Tyler, brother Robert Kenneth Gilbert, and best friend Evelyn Kendall.
Frances is survived by her son and daughter James and Michelle T. Enriquez, grandson Nathan Allen Enriquez, sister Mary Elizabeth "Snooks" Jones of Holcomb, Mississippi, and brother John Harley "Rassal" Gilbert (Louise) of Greenwood, Mississippi. sister-in-law Barbara Everhart (Henry) of West Helena, AR, brother-in-law Billy Ray Tyler (Linda) of Montevallo, AL, and Kip Tyler (Joni) of Jackson, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.
Pallbearers are Wayne Moss, Ankie Cummins, Clark Manning, William Wilkerson, Wallace Boyd, and Boots Hutchinson. Honorary bearers are James "Slim" Kendall and Travis "Sonny" Wood.
