Gladys Ann Jones

Gladys Ann Tedford Jones, age 86, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on August 5, 2021 at her home.
Visitation for Gladys will be held 1:00 PM until 300 PM Sunday August 8, 2021 at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Lehrton Cemetery. Reverend Bill Kirkpatrick will officiate the services.
Gladys was born on November 6, 1934 to Duke Johnson Tedford and Ruth Idell Murphree in Skene, MS. She attended her first 2 years of school in Skene and then her family moved to Cleveland where she graduated from High School in 1951. Gladys married Bernnie B. Jones, Sr. in 1955 and they moved to the country where they lived for the balance of their lives. She worked at Baxter Laboratories for 12 years. Gladys also helped her husband run the ½ way grocery store for 10 years. Gladys worked for B&W Memorial Company in Cleveland from 2003-2016. Gladys was a member of Dockery Baptist Church. After her husband’s death in 2017, she retired at home.
Gladys was preceded in death by her parents, Duke Johnson Tedford and Ruth Idell Murphree Tedford; her husband of 65 years, Bernnie Bailey Jones, Sr.; 7 brothers, Duke Eric Tedford, Otha Johnson Tedford, Hiram Wade Tedford, James Francis Tedford, Norman Gylspie Tedford, Clarence Edward Tedford and Earl Lynn Tedford, Brother, and John Winford Tedford.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Charlotte (Danny) Jones Bailey of Cleveland, MS; son, Bernnie (Ellie) Bailey Jones, Jr. of Cleveland, MS; granddaughter, Amanda Bailey Buford; great-grandchildren, Penelope Patterson, Skylar Buford and Caroline Buford.
Pallbearers will be David Tedford, Larry Jefcoat, Dane Jones, Tony Jones, Joey Tedford and Billy Walker Honorary pallbearer is Robert Knight.
Memorials may be made to Dockery Baptist Church.
