James “Troy” Medders, Sr.

CLEVELAND-James “Troy” Medders, Sr. age 58, of Cleveland passed away Friday, December 24, 2021.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 28, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 7:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Crocket Kennedy will officiate the service.

Troy was born June 11, 1963, to Auburn Elbert Medders, Jr. and Joan Boyd in Sacramento, California. He graduated from Paramount High School in 1981. He moved to Cleveland in 1989.
Troy was a loving and loyal father, son, brother, grandfather, friend, and uncle. He was very community-minded and never met a stranger. Troy was devoted to his profession as a Commercial Parts Pro. It filled him with pride knowing his customers who relied upon him to find the exact part they needed, no matter how difficult it was. To know Troy was to love Troy. He will always be remembered for the impact he made on everyone he met. He loved making others happy, whether it be with his contagious smile, loving laugh, giving personality, or his famous "Donald Duck voice". Troy will never be forgotten and will live on in the hearts and lives of others that he touched. He loved his children but truly lived for his grandchildren. He also held all of his nonbiological children close to his heart, especially Rhyan Ferguson.

Troy was preceded in death by his father Auburn Elbert Medders, Jr. and father James Kenneth Clem 'Bud".
He is survived by his mothers, Joan Boyd Clem of Anderson, AL, Sandra Medders of Cleveland, MS, daughters Christina Tolliver (Will) of Cleveland, MS, and Selina Burnside (Nash) of Cleveland, MS, son James Troy Medders, Jr. “TJ” (Anna) of Cleveland, MS, son Kris Medders (Lindsay) of Denham Springs, LA, 4 siblings, Miranda Hawkins, of Cleveland, MS, Auburn Elbert "Trey" Medders III of Vicksburg, MS, Angel Gatchell of Vicksburg, MS, Jody Castle (Kerry) of Mooresville, NC, and a niece Jamie Beach of Cleveland, MS. He also leaves 11 grandchildren Lathan, Aden, Logan, Brixton, Cullen, Kaden, Chandler, Brynleigh, Bradley, Maggie Reid, and Farrah to cherish his memory.

Honorary pallbearers are Mike Barr, Jim Keaveny, Terry Keaveny, Gabriel Gonzoles, Nate Richardson, Ricky Parson, and Abel Ferretti.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

The family wishes to thank each of those present at the scene of the accident, your loving care, and attention mean the world to them.

Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. An online guest register may be signed at www.clevelandfuneralhome.net.

This man was one of a kind. My best friend. He had a heart of gold. We loved to shoot pool, have a good time. But his kids always came first. We had some good time together. Troy my heart is so broken. Your family and friends are in my prayers. When you get to heaven, give my baby girl April a hug and kiss. RIP my friend.
