Funeral services for Mr. James Greely Mims, age 83, of Tallulah, Louisiana, formerly of Minter City, Mississippi, will be held at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, October 21, 2010, at Mount Vernon Baptist Church near Ruleville, Mississippi, under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah, Louisiana. Local arrangements conducted by Cleveland Funeral Home, Cleveland, MS Rev. Bob O'Neal of Tupelo, Mississippi, will conduct the services. Mr. Mims died Sunday night, October 17, 2010, at his residence in Tallulah, Louisiana. He was born in Durham, Mississippi, and resided in Minter City, Mississippi, most of his life. He was a retired pipeline supervisor for Texas Gas Inc. and a veteran of the U.S. Army. Survivors include one son, Mr. James Gary Mims of Minter City, Mississippi, two daughters, Mrs. Wanda Adams of Tallulah, Louisiana, and Mrs. Linda Nelms of Greenwood, Mississippi, and two sisters, Mrs. Gatha Traylor of Springfield, Tennessee, and Mrs. Lillian Kyle of Minter City, Mississippi. Mr. Mims is survived by 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Mr. Mims was predeceased by parents Mr. Z. O. Mims and Mrs. Lois Mims, wife Mrs. Ruth Dees Mims of Minter City, Mississippi, and brother Mr. Robert Mims of Springfield, Tennessee. Pallbearers include grandsons Robert and William Adams of Tallulah, Louisiana, Michael Mims of Money, Mississippi, and John Thomas Nelms III of Carrollton, Mississippi. Other pallbearers are Wayne Henderson of Minter City, Mississippi, and David Kyle of Hardy, Mississippi. Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Kyle of Minter City, Mississippi, and William Lindsey of Cleveland, Mississippi. Interment will be at the Lehrton Cemetery, Ruleville, Mississippi.
