CLEVELAND- Jenell “Grammies” Robinson Mitchel age 80 of Cleveland, MS passed away Thursday, May 2, 2019, at the Shelby Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Shelby, MS.
Visitation will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Burial will be in the Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, MS. Dr. Steve Huber will officiate the services.
Jenell was born December 21, 1938, to John Leroy and Annie Mosley Robinson in Cleveland, MS. She graduated from Merigold High School in 1957, she then attended Nursing School and became an LPN. Jenell worked for Bolivar Medical Center for over 20 years before moving to Texas to manage a personal care home for Alzheimer’s patients. In 2001 she returned to Cleveland to manage and hostess for The Warehouse Restaurant. Jenell enjoyed see and greeting her customers and making chocolate cobblers. Her hobbies included, gardening, cooking, collecting art, antiques, traveling, reading, attending the Tuesday Night Pickers and most importantly loving and caring for her children and grandchildren. Grammies, as she was affectionately known, had a strong faith in God, she had been a long-time member of Providence Baptist Church but was currently attending Immanuel Baptist Church in Cleveland. She will be missed by all her family and friends.
Jenell was preceded in death by her parents John Leroy Robinson and Annie Mosley Robinson, Son, Ben Ferrell Mitchel IV, two sisters, Patricia Maxwell, and Carolyn Hood.
Jenell is survived by two daughters, Sandy (Raymond) Huerta of Cleveland, MS, Heather Garrison of McKinney, TX, a Son, Scott (Julie) Speakes of Cleveland, MS, a brother Johnny (Karen) Robinson of Ruleville, MS. Six grandchildren, Justin (Tasha) Huerta, Haley (Eric) Kelly, Hayes Garrison, Gentry Grace Garrison, Shelton Scott Speakes, and Braxton Clark. Three great grandchildren Wally Huerta, Neva Huerta, and Chapman Kelly.
Pallbearers will be Justin Huerta, Eric Kelly, Morgan Robinson, Mickey Robinson, Rayburn Mosley, and Jeff Andrews.
