Jimmie Perry

Jimmie Emmett Perry Sr., aged 82, of Benton, Louisiana, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024, at his home surrounded by his children and a few close loved ones.

Born on January 20, 1942, at Meadville Hospital in Mississippi, to Sylvester "Vester" Perry and Stella Julia Cater Perry, Jimmie was the sixth child among eleven siblings. He grew up attending Bude Schools and later went on to marry his beloved wife, Clara Ruth Milan, on August 11, 1962. Together they shared a beautiful life and raised a loving family.

Jimmie was a skilled carpenter and owned a successful carpentry and fencing company in Cleveland, MS for many years. His passion for woodworking was evident in the craftsmanship of the birdhouses, swings, and various items he created. A lover of gardening and animals, Jimmie enjoyed tending to his garden and caring for all kinds of creatures.

Above all else, Jimmie cherished his family dearly, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His faith was paramount in his life as he was a dedicated member of Benton United Pentecostal Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Ruth; daughter Mary Ann; son Jr.; sisters Eveline and Novella; and brothers Shelby, Shelton, VC, Gordon, Fred, and Charlie.

Jimmie leaves behind a legacy of love and memories carried on by his daughter Jeddie Campbell (John) of Benton; sons Jamie Lee Perry (Haley) of Saucier, Mississippi and Stanley Perry (Melina) of Southaven; brothers David James Perry (Faye) of Wiggins and Johnny Lee Perry (Camelia) of Vicksburg; sisters Evon, Beverline and Marty; sisters-in-law Ruby, Judy, and Sue; ten grandchildren; Michael Campbell, Audrey Taylor, Matthew Campbell, Janice Campbell, Lacy Burkis, Austin Perry, Richelle Gentry, Haley Robinson, Seth Muzzi, Van Perry as well as ten great-grandchildren: Rylan, Maddie, Tripp, Landry, Willow, Herschel, Hazley, Adlyn, Aiden, and Jase.

The fond memories of Jimmie will be carried by those who knew him best.
