Joel Skelton

Joel William Skelton, age 29, of Nashville, TN, formerly of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, in Nashville.

Visitation will be held Thursday November 16,2023 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cleveland. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Church Sanctuary. Burial will take place in the Old Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend Tim Starnes will officiate the service.

Joel was born on November 10, 1994, to William Lyle Skelton and Paula Lynn Tarsi Skelton in Clarksdale, MS. He graduated from Cleveland High School Class of 2013 and continued his education at Mississippi Delta Community College. After college, Joel worked with Specialty Glass before moving to Nashville, TN where he was employed as a service Technician for Empower Electrical.

Joel recently found joy in skydiving and had a passion for driving muscle cars, especially his beloved Brittney Blue Mustang. He was also a card playing enthusiast and enjoyed playing poker as well as camping with his friends.

Joel's loving nature endeared him to many friends and family who will miss him greatly.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: William "Bill" Paul Skelton, Sarah Louise Guyton Skelton, Robert Louis Tarsi, and Jo Ann Annette Balducci Tarsi.

Joel is survived by his parents Lyle and Paula Skelton of Cleveland, MS; sisters Cassie Skelton of Montgomery AL and Megan Skelton of Cleveland, MS. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins to cherish his memory.

The pallbearers for the service are Chirag Dadlani, Hampton Strickland, Robert Ming, Jason Reed, Joey Grant, Chance Harding
