CLEVELAND - John Paul Soliz, age 45, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Sunday January 17, 2016.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 18, 2016, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 19, 2016, at Morrison Chapel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the North Cleveland Cemetery. Reverend John Thomas will officiate the services.
Paul was born September 27, 1970, in Cleveland, MS, to Johnny and Ellen Cockrell Soliz. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1988 and from Delta State University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. Paul owned Soliz Industrial Contractors, Inc. with his father and two uncles. He was a member of Morrison Chapel Baptist Church.
Paul loved drag racing, fishing, hunting, listening to loud music and spending time on the river. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and one of his greatest joys was coaching his daughter in t-ball. He also enjoyed surrounding himself with the people he loved and rarely spent a day without at least one friend stopping by his home to visit. He was a loving son and father who enjoyed every minute of his time with his children and family.
Paul was preceded in death by his grandparents James and Mary Cockrell, Juan and Tillie Soliz and his uncles, Trino Soliz and Dudley Cockrell.
Paul is survived by his wife of 16 years, Ashley Beckett Soliz, his son, Nathan Soliz, his two daughters, Katie and Allie Soliz and his father and mother Johnny and Ellen Cockrell Soliz, all of Cleveland, MS.
Pallbearers are Danny Soliz, Jessie Laro, Chris Edlund, Tommy Whatley, Phillip Laro, Louis Laro, Tucker Beckett and Tannor Beckett.
