Johnny Wayne Sheedy

CLEVELAND- Johnny Wayne Sheedy age 68 of Cleveland, MS passed away Thursday, June 2, 2022, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.

 

Johnny was born October 25, 1953, to William Carlton Sheedy and Genevieve Steadman Sheedy in Cleveland, MS. He was a graduate of Bayou Academy. He married Becky Stone on November 18, 1973, in Cleveland, MS. Johnny worked with Delta Hardware for over 40 years having served as a clerk, route salesman, and store manager. He later worked at Lampard's Wholesale Meat for a few years before his retirement. Johnny enjoyed fishing, hunting, drinking coffee with friends at McDonald's, spending time with family, and most importantly spending time with and going to his grandchildren's ballgames and other functions. He was a member of the North Cleveland Church of Christ. Johnny was a loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather. He was known for trying his best to take care of those he loved.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents William Carlton and Genevieve Sheedy and an infant brother William Carlton Sheedy, Jr.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 48 years Becky Stone Sheedy of Cleveland, MS, daughter, Stephanie (Shane) Henderson of Cleveland, MS, son, Michael (Melissa) Sheedy of Hernando, MS,  sister, Vivian (Charles) Ouzts of Cleveland, TN, 5 brothers, Ricky Sheedy of Paragould, AR, James Kevin (Ellen) Sheedy of McCool, MS, William Sheedy of Cleveland, MS, Gene (Susan) Sheedy of Killin, AL, and Buford (Kathi) Sheedy of Lagrange, GA. 5 grandchildren, Shianne, Erin, Madelin, Callie, and  Dalton and 1 great-grandchild. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews that he dearly loved.

 

A visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday, June 5, 2022, at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the New Cleveland Cemetery. Brother Wayne Fancher will officiate the services.

 

Pallbearers are Allen Williams, Tom McKee, Dax Dang, Shane Henderson, Eli Stallings and Charles Ouzts.
