Kathy Lane

Kathy Sullivan Lane, age 65, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.

Born on June 6, 1959, in Cleveland, MS, Kathy was the daughter of Jerry C. Sullivan and Pauline McMinn Sullivan. She grew up in the Skene Community and attended Shaw High School. Kathy's career included significant time at Baxter Laboratories and later with Duo Fast Corporation. Throughout her life, she cherished her family, especially her grandchildren. She delighted in watching her grandson Peyton play ball and enjoyed precious lunch and dinner dates with her granddaughter Ainsley.

Kathy is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Jerry and Pauline Sullivan, as well as her siblings: Jerry Sullivan, Eloise Sullivan, Willie Mae Correll, and Lucille Lindsey. She is survived by her husband, Jack Lane; her daughter, Samantha Gray (Phillip) of Cleveland, MS; her cherished grandchildren, Peyton and Ainsley Gray; and her sisters, Geraldine Melton (David) of Greenville, MS, Mary Ann West of Texas, Barbara Sue Sherron of Cleveland, MS, and Connie Lynn Sullivan of Greenville, MS. Additionally, she leaves behind her brothers, David Sullivan (Sue) of Benoit, MS, and Steven Sullivan (Marsha) of Greenville, MS, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will carry her memory with them.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home, followed by a Celebration of Life funeral service at 1:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Pete Roncali will officiate the service, and burial will follow at Shaw Cemetery.

In a heartfelt tribute, pallbearers will include her favorite young ball players: Brixton Tollivar, Kingston Hankins, Lake Clem, Brennan Chism, Triston Vazquez, Kale Hallford, Peyton Rybolt. Honorary pallbearers are her brothers, David and Steven Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN, 38501.

Kathy Lane will be cherished in our hearts and remembered for the love and joy she brought into the lives of those around her. Cleveland Funeral Home has been honored with the care of Kathy's family during this difficult time.
