DUNCAN--E. Lanelle Palmer, age 83, of Duncan, MS, passed away on Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the home of her son in Duncan.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS from 12:00 until 2:00 PM. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Drew Cemetery. Rev. Larry Braswell will officiate the services.
Lanelle was born on January 12, 1938, in Drew, MS to James Horest Ray and Jewel Virginia Fulgham Ray. She grew up in Sunflower County. She later married Alfred Conred Palmer. Lanelle was a homemaker and raised 4 children. Lanelle helped run their family businesses; The Old Timey Shop and This and That. These businesses consisted of resale/furniture refinishing and pawnshop. She loved crocheting, reading, spending time with family, sketching/drawing, taking photographs of the family. She was a member of First Bible Church. Lanelle broke her back 30 years ago and as her health deteriorated she became the family's greatest prayer warrior. She spent many hours witnessing to the family on the phone. She loved all of her family fiercely.
Lanelle was preceded in death by her parents, James Horest Ray and Jewel Virginia Fulgham Ray; husband, Alfred Conred Palmer, sisters, Virginia Vance and Geneva Yarbrough, and a daughter, Sandy Palmer; Grandchildren, Jennifer Fleming and John Lutz; Great-grandson, Malachi Wright, Sons-in-law, Jim Lutz, and Ronnie Fleming;
Lanelle is survived by her 3 daughters, Vicky Lutz of Northville, MI, Debbie Fleming of Cleveland, MS and, Regina Palmer of Duncan, MS, son, Alan (Dodie) Palmer of Duncan, MS, grandchildren, Amy Southwick, Becky (Kenny) Wright, Christy (Dave) Behman, Julie Moffat, David (Annie) Lutz, Katie (Blake) Moon, Alana Palmer and, 13 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Blake Moon, Dave Behman, Rickey Yarbrough, Brian Parish, Micah Moffat, Kenny Wright. Honorary pallbearers will be Joel Collins & Stanley Cobb.
