Larry Thompson, aged 59, a cherished resident of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, peacefully at his home. 

Born on March 11, 1965, in Cleveland to John Thompson and Mary Laro Thompson. Larry was a dedicated Cleveland native who graduated from Cleveland High School in 1984. Larry found his lifelong partner in love, Debbie Vardaman, whom he married on February 7, 1985, in Cleveland. Throughout his life, Larry demonstrated great dedication as a hard-working family man. He had various roles at Denton Dairy and Borden Milk Company before establishing his own successful painting and construction business. In his later years, Larry contributed his talents to maintenance roles at Delta State University, Cleveland Health and Rehabilitation, and North Sunflower Hospital until his retirement due to health reasons. Fondly known as a fun-loving and thrill-seeking race car driver with TK1 as his car number, Larry's outgoing and sociable nature endeared him to many acquaintances. He adored his family wholeheartedly with a special place in his heart for his grandchildren. Moreover, he found solace in fishing during his leisure hours. 

Larry was preceded in death by his loving parents John and Mary Thompson. He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 39 years, Debbie Thompson; daughters Kristen Thompson Martin and Kaleigh Lauren Thompson of Cleveland; son Taylor Brent Thompson of Olive Branch; brother John Thompson Jr. (Christine) of Menomonie, WI; grandchildren Jordan Thompson Rodgers, Riley Horne, John Caleb Thompson, Henley Brooke Thompson, Kylie Weeks, Bentley Thompson; great-grandchildren Carter Rose Rodgers, Thomas David Rodgers, Grayson Blake Rodgers, Braelin Trulove. 

Those who wish to pay their respects may attend the visitation scheduled from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Friday., June 28, 2024, at the Cleveland Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will commence at 2:00 PM within the tranquil setting of the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel under the guidance of Brother Larry Weaver officiating.

Pallbearers are Bo Gill, Jamie Weeks, Dillan Monrtes, Cookie Webb and James Winston.

Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with the honor of caring for Larry's beloved family during this time of mourning.
