It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Linda Marie Holt Walker, age 75, who departed this life on March 12, 2025, at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, Mississippi.
Born on February 4, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Chester Edward Holt and Lou Allene Allison Holt, Linda's journey began in the quaint embrace of her childhood home. She blossomed into a remarkable individual while growing up in Scott, Mississippi, ultimately graduating from Benoit High School with aspirations as bright as her spirit.
Linda dedicated over four decades of her professional life to the newspaper industry, where her talents flourished. As a respected manager, she left her mark on several esteemed publications, including the Delta Democrat Times, Houma Daily Courier, Thibodaux Daily Comet, Jacksonville Daily News, and Wilmington Star News. Her passion for storytelling and her commitment to journalism will be fondly remembered by all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.
After retirement, Linda returned to the cherished surroundings of the Delta to be close to her beloved family. Her creative spirit was evident in her love for crafting, and her compassion extended to her cherished canine companions, whose lives she enriched with warmth and care.
She was preceded in death by her parents Chester "Legs" and Allene Holt and brother Jim Holt. She is survived by her sons Mark Edward Walker (Brittney) of Houma, LA, and Michael Sean McCollugh (Laurie) of New Bern, NC, step-daughter Mandy McGee of Bossier City, LA, sister, Diane Haney (Jimmy) of Ruleville MS, grandchildren Mason Walker, Brynlee Walker, Cora McCollough and Dawson McCollough, nephew Troy Haney, and nieces Niki Haney and Katrina Hayden.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at http://www.cancer.org or to a local animal shelter, honoring Linda’s deep commitment to giving back to both the community and loving animals in need.
Arrangements are being handled with dignity by Cleveland Funeral Home, who will ensure that Linda's memory is celebrated with the respect she so rightly deserves.
