Margarette Summers Mitchell

Margarette Syble Mitchell age 94 of Madison MS passed away on November 20, 2024, peacefully at her home in Madison, MS. 

Margarette was born October 20, 1930, to Lazarus Earl and Mary Dell (Wilson) Summers in Ruleville, MS. She attended Ruleville High School and Bible College in Greenville, SC. Margarette married a childhood friend, Clyde "Bubba" Harold Mitchell in 1957. She worked as a telephone operator for Bell South, and Baxter Laboratories, and as an inspector for a manufacturer in Ruleville. Margarette was a Ruleville Church of God member and recently attended Old Rice Road Baptist Church in Madison. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School for many years. Margarette enjoyed her word search games; each evening, she and her daughters would have a Bible devotion. Margarette's passion was living a devoted life to her Savior Jesus Christ. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lazarus Earl and Mary Dell Summers, husband Clyde "Bubba" Harold Mitchell, grandson, James "Mitch" Mitchell Guest, three sisters; Sallie Brewer, Edna Porter, and Lillie Smith and a brother William "Sonny" Summers.

Margarette is survived by her two daughters; Debra Kay Breland and Margaret Ellen Guest both of Madison, MS, a sister, Mary Ellen "Sissy" Riddell (Paul) of Brandon, MS, and a sister -in -law Ann Summers of Tillatoba, MS, two granddaughters, Gina Breland, Ginger Williams (Todd) and one grandson, Steve Breland, great-grandchildren; Richard Maddox, Reed Creaden(Taylor), Colby Pugh, Madison Pugh Gilbert (Wendell), EllaKay Williams, Anna Claire Williams and James Dalton Williams. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until Noon Saturday, November 23, 2024, at Cleveland Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at Noon in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, MS. Reverend Chris Spence and reverend Jack Demoney will officiate the services.

Pallbearers are grandsons Todd Williams and Reed Creaden with great-grandson James Dalton Williams, Michael Riddell, Mark Bryant, Ross Mitchell, Andy Cummins, Steven Dill, and Brian Brewer.

Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Margarette's family during this difficult time.
