Margarette Ann Wheelus

Margarette Ann Mayo Wheelus age 74 of Cleveland, MS passed away Monday, June 21, 2021, at Delta Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cleveland.

Graveside Funeral Service will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 25, 2021, at Interstate Baptist Church Cemetery in Shaw, MS.

Ann was born July 2, 1946, to Robert C. and Alma Alyene Green Mayo in the Interstate Community. She attended Shaw Schools. Ann was a waitress most of her working career. She mainly enjoyed being at home raising her children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included singing, playing the piano, which at different times you could walk into the nursing home and find her playing her favorite tunes, puzzle books, and bingo. Ann enjoyed a simple life and was loved by her many friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Alyene Mayo, and a sister, Robbie Joy Mayo Austin.

Ann is survived by her daughters, Debora Lamb Bowen of Greenwood, MS, Lisa McCown Griffin (Ronnie) of Indianola, MS, Son, Andy Leach (Dawn) of Poplar Creek, MS, brother, Robert Mayo of Boyle, MS, sister, Dot Robinson of Shaw, MS. Seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
