Marilyn Bidwell Givens, age 74, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland MS.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, MS. Reverend Clarence Edwards will officiate the services.
Marilyn was born, May 27, 1948, to Kenneth Buford and Helen Pearce Bidwell in Greenwood, MS, She graduated from Greenwood High School and received her BS Degree in Education from Delta State University. Marilyn taught at Bankston Elementary for a number of years before moving to Pascagoula and then to the Boyle-Cleveland area. Marilyn owned Victorian Attic and the Sun Parlor in Boyle, MS for many years and also the Boutique in Cleveland, MS. She loved to garden, collect antiques, lace artifacts and spend as much time as she could with her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending as many of their events as possible. Marilyn was a devout Christian. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and attended First Baptist Church Boyle. She was loved by everyone and was a second mom and grandmother to many.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Helen Bidwell, brother Kenneth Bidwell Jr., brother George Steven Bidwell and a grandson Kade Givens.
Marilyn is survived by her sons; Jonathan Givens (Connie) of Boyle, MS and Robert Reed Givens, Jr. of Tampa, FL, and special friends Millie McGill and Charlye Harden of Cleveland, MS; eight grandchildren, Gabriel Givens, David Bastari, Lance Givens, Caleb Givens, Peyton Givens, Grey Givens, Levi Givens, and Michael Wright; three great-grandchildren, Mila Givens, Elle Bastari and Gisselle Wright. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends to cherish her memory.
Pallbearers are Michael Norquist, Derek Pennington, Jeremy Williams, Will Cox, Chris Hudson, Jeff Lindsay and Nathan Norquist.
