Cleveland--Martin Elliott "Ricky" Milan, Sr. age 72, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022, at the VA Medical Center in Memphis, TN.
Visitation for Ricky will be Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the North Cleveland Cemetery. Dr. Joe Young will officiate the services.
Ricky was born on July 18, 1949, in Shaw, MS to Robert Lee Milan and Vesta Louise Herald Milan. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1968. He joined the United States Marine Corp in 1969 and served time in Vietnam War. Ricky married Grace Ann Morris on May 3, 1973. He worked at West Implement for a short time before he and his brother Bobby began co-ownership of Milan Tractor Service, Ricky was known as one of the best tractor repairmen in the area. He helped build Calvary Chapel in Parchman, MS. He also had pastored West Drew Baptist Church for the past 13 years. Ricky enjoyed working with rental properties and was a jack of all trades. Ricky loved the Lord and enjoyed his time shepherding his people at West Drew Baptist Church.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Milan and Vestal Louise Herald Milan; 2 sisters, Ruth Perry and Martha Hamilton.
Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Grace Ann Morris Milan; Daughter, Kim (Craig) Milan Roberts of Cleveland, MS; 2 Sons, Martin (Mandy) Milan, Jr. of Merigold, MS; Joe Bradley (Julie) Milan, of Cleveland, MS; Grandchildren, Kaleb Milan, Logan Milan, Will Roberts, Kensley Roberts, Nathan Milan, Jensen Milan; Great-grandson, Samuel Milan; Sister, Syble (H.S.) Greer of Cleveland, MS; Brothers, Doyle Milan of Cleveland, MS and Bobby (Phyllis) Milan of Cleveland, MS. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to mourn his passing.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Hamilton, Greg Hamilton, Stanley Perry, Jamie Perry, Stacey Hamilton, and Travis Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of West Drew Baptist Church.
