Marvin Leslie Flemmons

Marvin Leslie Flemmons age 79 of Drew, MS passed away Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Walter B. Crook Nursing Home in Ruleville. 

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 23, 2022, at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Private family interment will follow in the Lehrton Cemetery. Reverend Jack Moore will officiate the services.

Marvin was born March 3, 1943, to Samuel Truman Flemmons and Dessie Green Flemmons in Sumner, MS. He graduated from West Tallahatchie High School. Marvin had worked for several years as a soil conservation surveyor. He owned the Ye Old Cabinet Shoppe and Music Mart in Drew, MS. He later worked in the Walmart photo lab for 10 years. Marvin enjoyed doing Silk Screening and had also taught a summer school class at Drew High School on Silk Screening. He was a Blues Music historian and enjoyed working with many community activities in Drew.

He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel Truman and Dessie Flemmons and sisters; Vivian Brooks, Mary Jane Chandler, and Doris Ann Powell, and brothers; Edmond Flemmons, and John Flemmons.

He is survived by his brothers; Arvin Flemmons of Drew, MS, Don Flemmons (Rose Ann) of Houston, TX, and James "Bud" Flemmons of, Hernando, MS, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The Urn bearer is Keith Flemmons.
