Mary Louise Elmore

SKENE - Mary Louise McMurry Elmore, age 81, of Skene, MS passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at her home.

Visitation will be held Friday, May 24, 2019, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.  Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at the Delta Heights Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Cleveland, MS. Reverend Jimmy Breland and Reverend Terrell Stringer will officiate the services.

Mary Louise was born on March 19, 1938, to Odia D. and Lilla L. (Mayo) McMurry in Skene, MS. She worked for a few years at Baxter Laboratory yet her main focus most of her life was on taking care of her family. Mary Louise was a lifelong member of Skene Baptist Church. She enjoyed raising her kids and grandchildren. She also loved spending time in the yard working with flowers and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her parents Odia D. McMurry and Lilla L. Mayo McMurry, her husband of 60 years Robert David Elmore and a brother Clarence McMurry.

She is survived by Son, Gary G. (Beverly) Elmore of Skene, MS. Daughter, Janet Elmore Pearson of Skene, MS.  Two granddaughters, Jessica Elmore (Craig) Morgan and Ashley Pearson (Jeff) Brooks.  Grandson, Duke (Kristen) Pearson. Nine great-grandchildren, Addison Morgan, Whitney Morgan, Whitney Brooks, Taylor Brooks, Hannah Brooks, and Shea Brooks. Three great great-grandchildren, Izaya Brooks, Levi Brooks, and Tessa Brooks. Mary also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory.

Pallbearers are Chuck Woodruff, Randy Howarth, Joe Earl Watford, Tommy McMurry, Louis Sellers, and Charlie Morgan. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Brooks, Duke Pearson, and Craig Morgan.
