Matthew Charles Lishman

CLEVELAND - Matthew Charles Lishman, age 31, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Monday, June 22, 2020, in Cleveland.

 He was born on December 01, 1988, to Kenneth Lishman and Christine Heffner in Clarksdale, MS. He grew up in the Merigold, Cleveland area. He attended Cleveland Public Schools and graduated from Cleveland High School in 2007. Matthew obtained 2 associates degrees from Mississippi Delta Community College. He was a chef by trade having worked at the Tin Roof, Blue Levee, Crawdad's, Stafford's on Main, and Hooker Grocery and Eatery. Matthew loved to cook, hunt, fish, garden, watch movies, read comic books, and watch and play baseball, but most of all he loved being a father to his two sons.  He was a member of Boyle Baptist Church.  

Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2020, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.  A Celebration of Life Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020, at 10:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be at the North Cleveland Cemetery. Father Kent Bowlds will officiate the service.
Matthew was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Leon and Madelinene Heffner, his paternal grandparents, Bobby and Sally Jo Lishman.

 He is survived by his sons, Asher and Quinn Lishman of Cleveland, MS. Father, Kenneth Lishman (Paula Lindsey) of Cleveland, MS.  Mother, Christine Heffner of Cleveland, MS. Brother, Christopher Lishman (Elizabeth) of Madison, MS., Aunt, Rene' Turnage of Southaven, MS., Aunt, Karen Brunetti (Ike) of Cleveland, MS, Uncle, Richard Heffner (Debbie) of Boyle, MS. Uncle, Todd Heffner (Stephanie) of Southaven, MS. 2 nephews, Jack and Roland Lishman and a niece, Rivers Lishman. He also leaves a host of cousins and friends to cherish his memory.
Pallbearers are Joey Lamb, John Horne, Andy Murphy, Jarrod Joel, Chris Shaman, and Russ Miller. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Heffner, Bob Sappington, Clint Griffin, and Will McClain.
