EL Dorado- Minnie (Jean) Tedford age 88 of El Dorado Arkansas passed away Friday, July 2, 2021, at the Medical Center South Arkansas in El Dorado. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, Mississippi. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. The Committal Service will be 2:00 PM in the Glenwood Cemetery in Yazoo City Mississippi. Reverend Ricky Dorrell and Reverend Matt Clark will officiate the services. Minnie was born March 9, 1933, to Bernice and Minnie Ray Collier in Chester, Mississippi. In 1943 her family moved to Cleveland, MS where she attended Cleveland Schools. In 1952, she married Earl Tedford. They had 3 children; daughter, Lynda, and sons, David Earl and Richard (Ricky). She was employed with Baxter Laboratories for some 15 years before working as a seamstress for Jay's Department Store. She was also employed at Noel industries in Ruleville, MS. In 1989, Minnie moved to Yazoo City MS, where she was employed with the Yazoo/Warren County Mental Health Department. While in Yazoo City, she was a member of the Yazoo City Church of God of Prophecy. Upon her retirement in 2005, she moved to El Dorado, AR to be near family, while there she attended Marrable Hill Chapel. Minnie loved to help with Operation Christmas Child by sewing shorts, dresses and giving personal hygiene bags (over 150). Her hobbies included fishing, sewing, crocheting, and making quilts, but most of all Minnie loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as well as her family and her many friends. She was preceded in death by her, son David Earl Tedford, brother, Burnie Collier, sisters, Josephine Jennings and Eva Jones, and a granddaughter, Mandy Jones. Minnie is survived by her daughter Lynda (Kenneth)Sinyard, son, Richard (Carolyn) Tedford, brother, Lee (Jimmy Joyce) Collier, sister, Mary Alice Barrentine, granddaughters, Elizabeth "Beth" Jones, Leslie (David) Thomas, grandson, Justin(Taylor) Myrick. Great-granddaughter, Anna Davis, and great-grandson Evin Myrick. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. The pallbearers are Jamie Jones, Cole Jones, Kevin Mims, Steve Johnson, Andy Collier, and Lee Collier, Jr. Honorary pallbearers are Elvis Jennings and Justin Myrick Cleveland Funeral home is in charge of arrangements. the online guest register may be signed at www.clevelandfuneralhome.net.
