Morris Litton

September 4, 1923 — July 31, 2011

Morris David Litton, age 87, of Benoit, passed away on Sunday July 31, 2011 at the Bolivar Medical Center.  He was born on September 04, 1923 to Robert Allen and Rosa (Bole) Litton in Litton, MS.  Mr. Litton grew up in the Litton area and attended Longshot and Benoit High schools. He was a self employed farmer most of his life. Although he had no children of his own Mr. Litton had his nieces and nephews to which he devoted much time. Teaching them how to hunt, drive a vehicle, and took them to many movies.  He was an avid outdoorsman, loved gospel music and was a gardener known for his hot peppers that he grew and gave to many friends and family. He was a US Army Veteran having served in WW II as a Medic. He was a member of the former Longshot Methodist Church and the American Legion.  He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Franklin Litton, Raleigh Litton, Robert Litton, John Litton and Clyde Litton.  Visitation will be Thursday August 4, 2011 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland.  Funeral Services will be held 11:00AM Friday August 5, 2011 at the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will be follow at the Graham Cemetery in Shaw, MS. Rev. James McNally and Ray West will officiate the services. He is survived by Spouse, Juanita Carver Litton of Benoit, MS. Sister, Bessie Litton Murrell of Greenville, MS and a host of Nieces and Nephews. Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association 731 S Pear Orchard Rd # 18, Ridgeland, MS 39157-4800. Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
