Nellie Burchfield

DREW- Nellie Jo Haynes Burchfield age 77 of Drew, MS passed away Monday, December 28, 2020, at her home. 
A Visitation will be held 9:00 AM till 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 30, 2020, at Cleveland Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 10:00 AM in the Cleveland Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Drew Cemetery. Brother Rick Milan will officiate the services. Masks and social distancing will be in place.

Nellie was born at the family home on the Sunflower Plantation on January 24, 1943, to Bennie G and Myrtle (Cooper) Haynes.

She attended Drew High School and later met and married William Hugh Burchfield on October 19, 1959. 
Nellie was a homemaker raising her 7 children and helping to raise her grandchildren. She was a member of West Drew Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Hugh Burchfield, sisters, Doris Haynes, Marie Bland Jones, and Mary Helen Pruitt, brothers, Bucky Haynes, Buddy Haynes, Benny Haynes, and Jack Haynes.

Nellie is survived by 7 children, Tony Burchfield of Senatobia, MS, Tina Ramirez of Flowood, MS, Tammy Couey of Drew, MS, Terry Burchfield of Brandon, MS Tonya Steed of Senatobia, MS, Toby Burchfield of Brandon, MS, Gary Burchfield of Vicksburg, MS;  2 Sisters, Jean Haynes Swinford, Elen Haynes Walker, brothers, Johnny Bo Haynes and Archie Haynes.  She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Cleveland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
