Patrick Lee Bowen

Patrick Lee Bowen, a beloved member of the Shaw, MS community, passed away at his home on June 13, 2023, at the age of 65. The visitation for Pat will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Ken West will officiate the services and burial will take place in the Indianola City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Mike Baker, Jimmy Burchfield, Steve Burchfield, Henry Kelly, John Andy Bowen, Marcus Bowen, John Toler and Joey Commander.

Born on June 27, 1957, to James Andy Bowen and Bonnie Merle Marquis Bowen in Shaw, MS and attended Shaw Schools. He received his degree in Diesel Mechanics and Welding from Mississippi Delta Community College. Pat worked for Uncle Ben's in Greenville for many years as a production line attendant. On May 21, 1987, he married Viola Katherine Lanham.

Pat, like his late grandfather John Andy Bowen, will be remembered for his remarkable kindness and generosity towards anyone who needed help. He always had a special place in his heart for those less fortunate than himself and often provided rental property or clothing to families without means to pay him back. Pat was passionate about sharing his faith with others without ever imposing it on them.

Moreover, Pat loved collecting antiques and never misthrew anything but instead devotedly safeguarded his collection of cars, trucks, motorcycles and four-wheelers that he cherished dearly. In addition to this passion were big concerns for our country's direction.

Pat's loving spirit will live on through his wife of 36 years Viola Lanham Bowen of Shaw, MS; daughter Jennifer Tennet of Tupelo, MS; stepdaughter Catherine Bonds (Kevin) and her daughter Katherine Jewel Hines of Brookhaven, MS; brother James "Skeeter" Bowen (Melody) of Shaw; nephew John Andy Bowen also of Shaw; niece Melanie Wiggins of Hernando, MS and two grandchildren.

Pat leaves behind a legacy of helping others unconditionally, and his memory will be cherished by all those who knew him. Cleveland Funeral Home has been entrusted with the service arrangements. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital at http://www.stjude.org. Rest in peace Pat.
