Ellen Marie "Rita" Vazquez, age 57, of Byhalia, MS passed away on Friday, March
25, 2016 after a long battle of cancer.
Born in Ruleville, MS to the late, David Woods, & Ellen Haynes Woods Walker, she
spent her youthful years in Drew, graduating from North Sunflower Academy. She
was a Graphics Art Designer at Toof Graphics in Memphis for 25 years.
Rita is survived by her daughters, Heather Vazquez and Stacy Vazquez both of Byhalia, MS, mother, Ellen Woods (Guy) Walker of Batesville, MS, brother, Ricky (Susan) Woods of Drew; sisters, Donna (Dale) Cook of Collierville and Gena (Jessy) Patterson of Saltillo; granddaughter, Melanie Vazquez and host of nieces, nephews, family and friends to cherish her memory.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Vazquez, her father, David Woods
and niece Courtney Woods.
Rita was a kind, brave and beautiful woman with an inescapable laugh that one
would never forget! Rita's life was much more than a few lines in the paper, so
please join the family in celebrating her story at Cleveland Funeral Home, 1361-
1369 Highway 8 West, Cleveland, MS, 38732 on Monday, March 28th. The family
will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:45 with her funeral service at 2:00. Burial will follow in the Drew Cemetery. Reverend Clarence Edwards will officiate the service.
Pallbearers will be Jessy Patterson, Haze Russell, Brandon Hietzman, Chris
Martin, Barry Haynes and Pat Brunetti.
