GRENADA - Robert Noel "Bobby" Garner, age 85, of Grenada formerly of Cleveland, MS, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2020, at the Grenada Living Center in Grenada, MS. Bobby was born on August 16, 1935, to John Clifton and Mattie (Hillard) Garner in Clarksdale, MS. He grew up in Jonestown, MS, and graduated from Jonestown High School. He later enlisted in the United States Army. Bobby worked as a lineman for an Entergy company for several years. He was an entrepreneur having owned several businesses such as the Halfway Store, several gravel trucks, and a shoe store. He loved to hunt and fish, collect arrowheads, play his harmonica, and listen to music. He enjoyed being near his family who he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents John and Mattie Garner, Brothers, John C. Garner, Jr., Hulon Garner, and Billy Sam Garner, and Mickey Garner. Sisters, Mattie P. Reid, Daphne Grimes, Hortense Garner, and Geraldine McKinney.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Memorial Services will follow at 11:00 Am in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel. Burial of his cremains will be at the Jonestown Cemetery. The Reverend Robert Haney will officiate the services.
He is survived by son, John (Jo) Garner of Grenada, MS. Daughters, Patricia Ann Gates of Corinth, MS, and Donna Kay Quinn of South Bend, IN. A sister, Beverly Able of Boca Raton, Fl. Five grandchildren, Logan Gates, Jonathan Garner, Will Gates, Matthew Garner, and Ayden Quinn.
