Rodney Dean Lamb age 75 of Cleveland, MS passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at his home in Cleveland.
Rodney was born July 22, 1947, to Lawrence Marvin Lamb and Ruby Hawkins Lamb in Rosedale, MS. He grew up in Rosedale and graduated from Rosedale High School. He also attended Mississippi Delta Community College until he was drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Rodney was awarded the Bronze Star and was a Purple Heart recipient. Rodney worked at Wade Incorporated as a salesman for over 40 years. His hobbies included Team roping of cattle and in his younger years he enjoyed working with his stepdad Bert Joseph working on the cattle farm. Rodney's greatest passion was spending time with his family and especially spoiling his grandchildren. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Lambert, MS.
He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Marvin Lamb, Stepdad Bert Joseph and mother Ruby Joseph, son, Rodney Dean Lamb, Jr."Dino", sister Florence Lamb Ellis, brothers; Lawrence Marvin Lamb, Jr., William Stanley Lamb, Billy Joe Lamb, and Hugh Sidney Lamb.
Rodney is survived by his wife of 12 years Christie Bell Lamb of Cleveland, MS, daughter, Kristie Williams (Heath) of Almyra, AR, 5 sons; Charles Lamb (Bevin) of Beulah, MS, Joey Lamb (Katelyn) of Beulah, MS, Jordan Aldridge (Amber) of Cleveland, MS, Wesley Aldridge (Lainey) of Cleveland, MS and Peyton Aldridge (Lauren) of Cleveland, MS, daughter-in-law Kim Lamb of Rosedale, MS. 17 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish his memory.
Visitation for Rodney will be held Friday, February 10, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Cleveland Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service will follow in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in the Beulah Cemetery. Reverend Ashley Thurmond will officiate the services.
