Roy T Weeks

Mr. Roy Trenton Weeks, age 95, passed away on December 8, 2024, at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS. Born April 4, 1929, in Boyle, MS to R.T. Weeks and Gracie Blackwell Weeks, Roy lived a life marked by dedication, hard work, and a deep love for his family. 

Roy married Kathleen Henry on February 4, 1961, and together they built a life filled with love.  He spent his formative years sharecropping with his family in the Mississippi Delta.  Roy served his country in active duty in the United States Army.  He returned home where he devoted many years to Planters Equipment Company.  He later opened his own cotton picker service shop and his own farming operation while also operating his family-owned convenience store, Roy's Food Mart.  After retirement from implement sales, he found great joy in restoring and tinkering with antique tractors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Weeks, his parents, R.T. and Gracie Weeks, and his siblings, Howard and Willie Weeks.

Roy is survived by his sons, Tommy Weeks (Alanna) of Sardis, MS, and David Weeks (Teres) of Cleveland, MS; his grandchildren, Jonathan Weeks (Tabatha), Kimberly Weeks Trentham (Nick), Hunter Weeks (Kala), and Kylie Weeks Mitchell (Ryan); great-grandchildren, Harper Trentham, Hadley Trentham, Kate Mitchell, Bradley Mitchell, Lana Weeks, Avery Weeks, and Jersey Weeks; his sisters, Brenda Weeks Tanksley (Thomas) of Greenwood, MS, and Faydell Weeks Lynchard of Monroe, LA, and brothers Louis Weeks (Mary) and Lloyd Weeks of Cleveland, MS; his many wonderful caregivers, especially Shanice Johnson and Lisa Isler.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 13, 2024, from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at Cleveland Funeral Home.  

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
