Samuel Diamond age 73 of Rosedale, MS passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at the Legacy Manor Nursing Home in Greenville, MS.
Visitation will be held 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Sunday, November 14, 2021, at Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Graveside Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 PM in the Beulah Cemetery, Beulah, MS. Reverend Robert Warren will officiate the services.
Samuel was born October 15, 1948, to William Bailey and Viola Price Diamond in Oak Grove, Louisiana. He attended Kilbourne High School. He married Janice Dye in 1968 they had his only daughter Leslie in 1969. In 1971 he married Linda Jenkins, they lived in St. Louis Missouri, and Kentucky for 8 years before moving back to the Mississippi Delta. Sam enjoyed camping, gardening, and traveling out West, he had been to all the states but Alaska. His passion was being a towboat pilot for Jantran for nearly 40 years. His family says he was a good Christian man who will be forever missed by those who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Viola Diamond, his wife, Linda J. Diamond, brothers, Thomas and Verdis Diamond.
Samuel is survived by, his daughter, Leslie Diamond of Oak Grove, LA, brothers, Earnest Diamond, Lamond Diamond, of Greenville, MS, three sisters, Hazel Jean Matthews, of Weatherland, TX, Jenny Ruth Tuberfield of Greenville, MS, Evon Inez Diamond of Oak Grove, LA, brother and sister in law Jerry and Leslie Jenkins of Cleveland, MS, 2 grandsons, Eric Wayne Harper of Weatherford TX, Mason Garrett Harper of Del Rio, TX and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Eric Wayne Harper, Joe Jenkins, Jonathan Jenkins, and Jerry Jenkins.
