Sherry Ann Barnett

TUTWILER - Sherry Ann Thompson Barnett, age 50, of Tutwiler, MS, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. 

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 24, 2019, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cleveland Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, April 25, 2019, in the Cleveland Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial will follow at the Rome Cemetery in Rome, MS. Reverend Joe Young will officiate the services.

Sherry was born on February 12, 1969, to Tommy and Shirley Ann (Harrel) Thompson, Sr. in Chicago, Illinois. She grew up in the Parchman area and attended the Drew Schools. She married David Paul Barnett on February 03, 1987. Sherry was a former manager of the Shell Station in Cleveland and also had worked for many years as an oxygen checker for Tackett Fish Farms.  She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed every minute with her family and especially her grandchildren. Sherry's hobbies outside of taking care of her grandchildren were, going to the movies, family time, shopping and making floral arrangements. Sherry was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Parchman.

She was preceded in death by her father Tommy Thompson, Sr.

Sherry is survived by Husband of 32 years, David Paul Barnett of Tutwiler, MS.  Mother, Shirley Ann Harrel Thompson of Tutwiler, MS.  3 daughters, Tiffany Thompson of Pearl, MS, Samantha Barnett of Pearl, MS, Rachel Barnett of Pearl, MS.  Brother, Tommy Thompson, Jr. of Rome, MS.  2 sisters, Cindy Ray of Arcabutla, MS, and Sheila Ray of Cleveland, MS.  6 grandchildren, Brookelyn Lott, Cheyanne Tyler, Isabella Summers, Demarcus Tyler, Jr., Brandon Summers, and Robert Scruggs, Jr.

Pallbearers are Rocky Barnett, Braxton Horn, Patrick Vanderford, Randy Vanderford, Aaron Trulove, Timothy Downs, Cody Barnett, and Brian Vanderford.
